The water park is the perfect way to beat the scorching Malaysia heat. Get the blood pumping when exploring the Extreme Park zone. Fly through the air by bungee jumping or propelling from 0 to 120km per hour in two seconds on Asia’s highest slingshot ride. For families with younger children, the Wildlife Park is a must-see. Hand-feed rabbits, tortoises, and guinea pigs. Pet the pony. Slip in a learning section by visiting different types of animals. Channel your innerWitness nature’s flying creation at Taman Burung Kuala Lumpur, the world’s largest free-flight walk-in aviary. Spot iridescent blue peacocks, statuesque flamingos, spectacular hornbills, and so much more. There are over 3,000 local and foreign birds within the 4 different zones that you can explore with your family. Stroll through the free-flight zone, designed to resemble the birds’ natural habitat. The beautifully landscaped scenery offers visitors sceneries and experiences that can only be found in tropical rainforests while ensuring the survival and species continuity of these birds. This is truly a tropical paradise that cannot be missed.

4) Batu Caves

The magnificent Batu Caves is a sight to behold for all those who lay eyes on it. The towering statue of the Hindu God, Lord Murugan, guards the 272 brightly-coloured steps leading up the limestone caves, temples, and Hindu shrines. The multiple steps might deter families to explore, but on the contrary, the Batu Caves are a great way to let children expend their energy while exposing them to other cultures and religions. Once at the very top, you can have a glimpse at sacred temple procedures while admiring the stunning geological landforms. The Batu Caves can get crowded so be sure to come early to avoid the crowds.

5) Kuala Lumpur National Planetarium

Another science gem is the Kuala Lumpur National Planetarium. Teach your children everything they might want to know about the planets and the universe. Meander through interactive exhibitions like the Space Ball, a gyroscopic device that spins visitors around. Enter the Space theatre and watch captivating science and space films, including clips from Star Wars. Go up to the minaret-like tower to the Viewing Gallery using the UV-lit lift for the best views of Lake Gardens and the rest of downtown. The highlight of this planetarium is the Observatory Park, where models of Chinese and Indian astronomy systems are displayed and distant planets can be seen through a telescope. Compete with your family to see who can spot the furthest planet. With so many attractions, you can easily spend hours at this family day activity.

Some of these courses can take a few hours so be prepared. Upon achieving victory and completion of the course, you and your family can head to the sky deck, an elevated wooden platform, to calm the adrenaline and have a nice bbq meal. Although it is 45 minutes from the Kuala Lumpur city centre, it is worth it.
